MEMORIUM: It is with sadness to report that Benny Braskowitz (08) died in a shootout in a bank job gone bad on the 28th of last month. Wounded at the same time was Benny’s partner John (Midnight) Jackson (Sing-Sing 09). Benny died doing what he loved, bank work. Benny’s memory will be honored at a mess hall riot next Tuesday.
Also we remember Sam (Fingers) Filinders (lifer) killed going over the wall last Friday. Fingers almost made it in a lawn chair lifted by gas filled garbage bags. His mistake was using nitrous oxide instead of helium. Contributing to his problems were the red bags which were easy targets and the wind blowing him into the compound.
A STEP UP: Alton Granger (10), who took an accounting job after parole, just made the big time. Granger was convicted Monday for embezzlement and sentenced to 5-10 in the Federal system. Congratulations Alton Granger.
WE NEED YOUR HELP: Please consider contributing to the Central State C F alumni fund. If you could send a small portion of your next con or heist, we will be able to help many inmates who are in need. A new chair is needed in the death chamber as the old one is well worn and uncomfortable. Improved catering is also needed for last meals. All contributions will be greatly appreciated.
GONE STRAIGHT: Aaron Thomas (02) has been promoted to senior vice president of Carr Electronics Corp. He has served at various levels of management at Carr since his parole. In this time the company has prospered and never misplaced a dime. It looks as though we may never see our old friend Aaron again. Miss you A.
DON’T FORGET: Homecoming Day will be July 25. Bring something for the picnic. No weapons or warrants please.
