Each and every one of us signed a contract upon having children. Remember that piece of paper spelling out all the terms and conditions of parenting? Recall the fierce negotiations, the lawyers making clear to us our rights and obligations?

It was the contract that you were told could never be broken. The contract that states if you don’t agree to its stipulations you have no one to sue and no judge to hear your case in court.
